Description

The Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Specialist will play a key role in promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility across Bonfiglioli USA. This role involves providing strategic guidance and hands-on support to management and staff, ensuring the successful implementation of HSE programs, continuous safety improvements, and compliance with all regulatory requirements. The HSE Specialist will be the go-to expert for safety audits, inspections, incident investigations, and program development, contributing to the overall health and safety of the workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and coordinate the Safety Committee, driving the development and maintenance of the company's Safety Manual.
Interpret and apply information from Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) to ensure the safe handling and disposal of hazardous chemicals.
Train employees in the safe and effective operation of transportation and assembly equipment, ensuring full competency before use.
Maintain comprehensive records of personnel training related to HSE and equipment operation.
Oversee the creation and management of the HSE budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
Develop and implement safety-related Standard Work Instructions (SWIs) to enhance workplace safety practices.
Conduct regular on-site health and safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
Spearhead the development of a plant-wide recycling program to support environmental sustainability initiatives.
Organize and lead annual safety trainings, fire drills, and equipment safety inspections.
Establish and enforce Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements for all employees and visitors.
Ensure that all facility operations comply with OSHA regulations and local HSE laws.
Plan, develop, and implement warehouse safety programs as needed to address specific risks.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety or a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar safety-focused role.
3-5 years of professional experience, ideally within the Automotive Assembly industry.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and standardized work processes is advantageous.
Strong understanding of OSHA requirements and workplace ergonomics.
Experience with hazardous materials (HAZMAT) management.
Proficiency in safety planning and troubleshooting.
Certified in First Aid, CPR, and Train-the-Trainer programs.
