Description

Position Summary

The Environmental Healthy and Safety Material Handler is responsible for movement of materials related to the EHS and Environmental Health & Safety department.

Responsibilities and Essential Duties

Assisting the EHS Specialist and Senior EHS Manager in labeling, organizing, and preparing waste for disposal.
Keeping the waste collection area in a constant state of cleanliness and organization.
Assisting with wastewater, storm water, SPCC, and SWPPP operations and compliance.
Assisting with DI water operations.
Assisting with cleaning team management.
Operate forklifts and follow all safety requirements.

Qualifications

Ability to operate stand up reach forklift, dock stocker forklift, sit down forklift, electric pallet jacks, and manual pallet jacks.
Hazardous communications (HAZCOM) training a plus.
Basic math skills, (add, subtract, multiply, divide, kg to lbs and lbs to kg conversion).
English reading and writing a must, English/Spanish speaking a plus.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Mechanical aptitude preferred.

2 years minimum forklift operation experience.
Experience handling chemicals preferred.

Physical Requirements

Lift, push and pull up to 75 pounds, walking and standing for long periods of time.
Squatting, bending, kneeling, stooping, and climbing (use of a ladder).
Must be able to perceive and identify colors.
