As a sustainability consultant, you'll help companies and businesses become more socially and environmentally responsible in how they operate. You'll need to create sustainable solutions for the often conflicting needs of people, the environment, development and successful business.

Work will involve evaluating the impact a company is having on the environment (for example, their carbon footprint) and then minimising that impact or planning the use of limited resources. You may be involved in all or some stages of a project from planning and tools/strategy development, through to remediation, restoration and reuse of resources, for example.

What can your workday look like?

Advising clients on the development and delivery of Climate adaptation/mitigation strategies or solutions throughout the lifecycle of products and services.
Support clients in climate mitigation, adaptation, and climate resilience, including developing sector specific mitigation and adaptation objectives and measures, such as in a low carbon and climate resilient strategy or action plan.
Support clients with assessment of carbon emission reduction potential and carbon footprints.
Support the delivery of GHG inventorying services, including operational scope 1+2 and value chain scope 3 inventories.
Carry out gap analysis reviews/audits for environmental and sustainability related topics.
Carry out Audits or Projects independently and provide written reports on the findings.
Support clients in sustainability reporting and non-financial data management according to selected methodology.
Analyse client’s ESG data and develop solutions for improving their sustainability performance and achieving their goals e.g. carbon neutrality, implementation of circularity principles in resource management.
Coach and mentor via presentations, workshops and writing of methodical guidance to develop technical skillset of our clients.
Keep up with the latest research and developments within sustainable practice.
Design strategic plans and sustainability related calculation and analytical tools.

The skills and experience required for the role include:

University degree or adequate proof of education in environmental sciences or related fields.
A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience preferably in one of the following areas: carbon footprint calculations/verification, net zero transition, sustainable supply chain management.
Excellent English language skills.
Technical understanding and working proficiency of Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG calculations and reporting.
Strong skills with data collection, analytics, modelling, and visualization.
Independence in planning and execution of projects from the beginning until its delivery.
Knowledge of GHG Protocol, CDP or TCFD framework is an advantage
