Let there be light! The alfanar Group ("al fanar" is roughly translated as "the light" in Arabic) is primarily engaged in building power plants, substations, and water treatment plants in Saudi Arabia. Other subsidiaries manufacture electrical systems and industrial equipment needed for the utility plants, while alfanar IT provides information technology services to the Saudi government and other private corporations doing business in the Middle East. The alfanar Group has locations in Egypt, India, Qatar, Syria, and the United Arab Emirates. The alfanar Group and alfanar Construction were founded in 1976; alfanar IT came along in 1995.
