We are seeking a Sustainability Advisor/Senior Advisor to join our growing Sustainability Practice based around Australia.
This is an exciting opportunity to support our growing portfolio of clients to integrate sustainable practices into their operations. You’ll work alongside some of the most experienced environmental consultants in the country, supporting a diverse range of projects as part of a dynamic and collaborative team.
About you
You will have at least 2-5 years’ experience in sustainability consulting or a related role, preferably within the mining, energy or infrastructure sectors, and demonstrate:
- excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills
- initiative, reliability, high energy and a friendly personality
- ability to prioritise and work collaboratively and effectively to multiple deadlines, in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
A degree in a relevant subject area such as environmental science, sustainability, engineering or similar is highly desirable.
Other experience you bring includes:
• an understanding of current and emerging Australian and global sustainability-related laws, regulations and standards, not least the Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS)
• practical or technical experience of climate mitigation and adaptation planning and reporting
• practical or technical experience of biodiversity/nature-based impact management and reporting
• Knowledge of industry-specific frameworks and standards such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB), Infrastructure Sustainability Council (ISC), Copper Mark, Towards Sustainable Mining (TSM), and International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM)
• proven ability to develop and implement effective sustainability strategies

About the role
As Sustainability Advisor/Senior Advisor in our growing Sustainability Practice, you will play a crucial role in supporting our clients to integrate sustainable practices into their operations. This can involve working side-by-side with our counterparts to develop and implement sustainability strategies, or it can be delivering project specific action across a range of areas such as climate mitigation and adaptation, biodiversity, and social impacts and human rights.
Our work enables our clients to enhance their environmental, social, and governance performance, meet market and regulatory performance requirements, and ensure their operations are positively impacting people and planet.
Key responsibilities
- Support and/or lead sustainability assessments and research to identify areas for improvement and compliance with market and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement sustainability programs and initiatives that align with client objectives and deliver value creation.
- Advise clients on sustainability-related matters, technologies, and practices, for example in energy efficiency, waste reduction, and biodiversity.
- Prepare reports and presentations to communicate sustainability performance to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure sustainability strategies are integrated across all project phases.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, legislation changes, and best practices in sustainability to provide current and informed advice.
