JOB SUMMARY: This Budget Analyst position is with the Washington Fish and Wildlife Office located in Lacey, Washington. MAJOR DUTIES: As a Budget Analyst your duties will include, but are not limited to, the following: Formulate budgets for current and future activities based on proposed and actual expenditures; analyze budgetary trends, characteristics, and deficiencies within program areas and report recommendations to management and external audiences. Enter and retrieve financial data from automated systems to track and manage budgetary data; create spreadsheets, tables, charts, graphs, or diagrams; and present information to explain or justify financial decisions, conclusions, findings, and recommendations to others. Manage multiple fund types with different expiration dates and allocate expenses through various funding mechanisms (eg., reimbursable agreements, contracts, financial assistance agreements, and Intra/Inter agency agreements) in a financial plan. Apply knowledge of financial principles, policies, and procedures in managing and overseeing budgetary commitments and appropriated funds; determine whether estimates of funding needs and requests are in line with program plans and work methods by working with customers within and outside of the agency. Supervise and provide guidance to subordinate staff, manage staff workload, develop performance standards, assist in work planning and scheduling, review and provide feedback on the work of others, identify areas for staff improvement, and assist in staff development.
