Education Experience Coordinator
The purpose of this position is to provide overall administrative support to the varied aspects of the Education Department operations including: answering phone calls and emails, managing program reservations, collecting payments for programs, returning calls, assisting in preparing program materials, and supporting all programs. The Coordinator is the primary person responsible for managing the database, including troubleshooting and reporting needs for the department. This position manages the day-to-day use of the education center, ZooMobile vehicle, and other department resources.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage all education program reservations including, but not limited to, guided tours, field trip experiences, toddler and camp programs, and outreach.
Input and manage all education program reservations using Galaxy Point of Sale, Gateway Ticketing Systems, Inc., and CRM.
Manage all education program communications and correspondence through communication software and CRM.
Manage the education phone line and conduct calls for general inquires, scheduling programs, collecting payment and other matters.
Manage the education department calendar to ensure accuracy and order with the assistance of the Education Programs Supervisor.
Collaborate with the Digital Marketing Manager in social media content creation and posting, managing the distribution lists, contacts, and website content.
Assist in the scheduling and preparation of materials for education programs and events.
Support the education department by assisting when needed with camp program needs, support educators as needed, communicate with group leaders and general zoo guests.
Assist with uploading educational photos and creating posts through the Homeroom application for programs.
Research supplies and program materials for the education department as necessary.
Assist in tracking revenues, expenditures, and funds including grant funds for programs.
Develop and prepare revenue and expense reports and attendance reports, for the department for programs, logistics, etc. as needed.
Prepare and manage survey reports and program evaluations and data through Survey Monkey for the department.
Manage all camp program registrations and administrative duties (name tags, rosters, waivers, check-in).
Supports organizational partnerships through department collaboration and communication, and use of education vehicles, spaces, and equipment.
Ensure office area and classroom are tidy and in working order.
Work in a team environment, creating a safe and fun experience for children.
Perform other duties as required.

Ability to work independently and follow direction from the Education Programs Supervisor and/or the Director of Education.
Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions, and around animals, including reptiles, mammals, birds, amphibians, and invertebrates.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
Valid CPR, First Aid, and AED certification or willing to obtain within 90 days of hire required.
Must adhere to uniform policy and maintain professional appearance
Must adhere to company policies on behavior and conduct.
Must be willing to consent to a comprehensive background check.
Must provide proof of a TB test within the last 12 months or be willing to consent to obtaining one upon hire.
Must have proof of valid tetanus vaccination or consent to obtaining one upon hire.
Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Multi-lingual is preferred.
Education and/or Experience:
Must have at least two years of college or professional experience in communications, human relations, integrated studies, social sciences or related field.
Must have a minimum of one-year experience in customer service.
Experience using and managing Galaxy, Gateway, CRM, Survey Monkey, Homeroom is strongly preferred.
Experience working in/with recreation programs, schools, zoos, aquariums, environmental education centers, and/or combination thereof a plus, but not required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Valid driver’s license but must be 21 years of age to drive zoo owned motor vehicle for zoo business.
Certified Interpretive Host certification is a plus.

Work Environment:
• Working conditions for this position are normal for an outdoor environment.
• The typical weekly schedule is Monday – Friday.
• Flexibility in working weekends and evenings as required.
• Flexibility in working holidays if needed.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Ability to travel and drive a vehicle (car/cargo van) as needed.
