This role will be dedicated to the Coastal Virginia Offshore Windfarm in Norfolk, VA.

We are now looking for enthusiastic Senior Technician to join our Coastal Virginia Offshore Service team based in Norfolk, Virginia.
As a Senior Technician your key role will be to deliver excellent Service, MTBV (Meantime between visits) and First time Fix, while ensuring compliance with SGRE internal processes and procedures, U.S. Legislation, Environment, Health & Safety - EHS and Quality. This is an opportunity to be part of a growing Offshore Service team within a dynamic business, delivering innovation to the renewable energy. This is great development opportunity for someone looking to move into a first level leadership position. Once the Coastal Virginia Commercial project is active this role will transition to living and working offshore on our Service Operation Vessel on a 2 week on 2 week off rotation , leading our operational team in the execution of world class O&M activities.
The position requires approximately 40% travel.
Relocation maybe provided for this role, should it be necessary.
Responsibilities:
Active safety leadership when onshore, on board the SOV, in the turbine and in the Wind Farm - ensuring correct reporting of incidents and accidents, near misses and unsafe acts and conditions.
Ensuring compliance with SGRE standards and U.S. legislation in relation to EHS, Quality and Service delivery
Responsible for technical and safety documentation production and management. You will also drive and develop Risk Assessments and assemble additional documentation for work packages / tasks. In addition to developing and delivering the setting to Work procedures.
Ensuring compliance with customer and contractual obligations whilst executing work packages / tasks. Whilst ensuring compliance with site rules and regulations
Responsible for technician competency development and mentoring for SGRE and Customer employees.
Maintaining efficient timescales for delivery of service activities, assisting in the creation of daily, weekly plans for site teams as in conjunction with Service Operations team.
Taking the lead on safety stand events and ensure best practice is being used
Providing support to Service and Troubleshooting teams when they call for parts or tools. Guide storekeeper to identify the right tools, parts and support getting it delivered to the turbine.
Reporting to management and customer on the site status of the planned and unplanned maintenance
Developing and improving standard operating procedures
Use established remote diagnostic tools and systems to optimize turbine availability.
Assist technicians that call for guidance in relation to the service manual or troubleshooting.
Go through the checklist for final approval and keep technical documentation organized.
Assist on technical accuracy and up to date reporting as per local, customer and organizational requirements.
Required Knowledge/ Skills, Education, and Experience
A High school diploma or equivalent .
2-5 years of experience in mechanical, electrical, or industrial field
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Must pass pre-hire background drug screening.
Driving is an essential function of the job and applicants must have a valid driver’s license at the time of application with an acceptable driving record. Employees must maintain a valid license and acceptable driving record and may be subject to periodic DMV checks of their license.
#Mid-Senior
Preferred Knowledge/ Skills, Education, and Experience :
Experience working in an industrial setting, ideally within the wind industry would be preferred
An electrical, mechanical, or managerial education would be preferable, but not essential
Experienced working with a large range of contractors and customers.
Experienced working with MS Office applications and preferably SAP, Monitoring Operations and Registration System (MORS), Wind Hub or remote diagnostic tools would be an advantage
Must be flexible to work in shifts at the project location (e.g. 2 weeks on at sea & 2 weeks off) to be confirmed. During training and ramp up for site, work Monday to Friday with weekends off may be required.
This role post secondment overseas requires the person to be based within a daily commutable distance from Norfolk, Virginia.
