Job Description Summary
Lead and manage a “site selection” centre of excellence for GE Vernova Financial Services using state of the art Geographic Information Systems (GIS) based integrated software (Enverus or equivalent) and meso-scale based wind data models to provide valuable inputs vis-à-vis wind resource, development constraints and power evacuation nodes capacity to identify optimal locations for renewable power projects.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide support and guidance on spatial data management in the context of infrastructure project development cycle (Wind, Battery, Solar)
- Support design and management of multiple geodatabases, including carrying out geoprocessing/analysis tasks. Maintain list of prohibitive and non-prohibitive constraints databases based on GIS data and Site selection criteria.
- Maintain/enhance GEV site selection algorithm leveraging GIS software to deliver technical analysis, land information and project return. Develop and maintain a feedback loop to enhance the accuracy and suitability of the site selection tool.
- Automate processes for uploading and processing GIS information, including land/wind/grid data in the context of site selection and early-stage development. Ability to access and process large volumes of data from ground mounted measuring stations and operating projects using software would be viewed favorably.
- Design and develop tools to automate GIS output within project development processes (post site selection) and analyze key constraints.
- Prepare Competitive analysis based on GIS data, established relevant set of statistics to support project development strategies.
- Develop and implement GIS Standards, reporting and best practices. Optimize tools and processes for wind resource analysis.
