We are looking to place an Environmental Scientist to provide remote support for the Environmental Management System (EMS) Program at Sheppard AFB, TX.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Knowledge of and experience with Army/Air Force/DoD Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
- Experience with implementation, checklists, policy, environmental inspection process (EIP).
- Perform EMS self-assessments and inspections, aspects and risks, awareness training, audits, and documentation/records management.
- Monitor compliance with Air Force Instruction (AFI) 32-7001, Environmental Management and the Sheppard EMS onsite.
- Perform data collection, organization, and presentation.
- Technical and business writing.
- Environmental compliance tools, processes, and inspections.
- Environmental training, audits, and document/records management.
- Professional written and verbal communications with customer as well as team.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience working as an environmental professional for a minimum of 3 years, 2 years of experience with EMS may be substituted for degree requirements.
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, geology, chemistry, or another related field.
- Possess strong knowledge of Army/Air Force/DoD installation environmental compliance operations.
- Possess a working knowledge of other Federal Environmental Statutes and State-specific regulations pertaining to Army/Air Force/DoD Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
- Strong written and oral communication skills and proficiency with eDash, MS Office applications (Word and Excel) is required.
- Ability to successfully pass a federal agency background check is required.
- Individuals already possessing an adjudicated National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) are preferred as well as prior AF experience.
- Motivated self-starters requested.
- Occasional travel to Sheppard AFB for onsite meetings and assessments.
