Job Summary:
This position will lead the management in regards to life cycle thinking. This includes performing product life cycle assessments and other similar studies of Company's products and processes as well as external customers. This position will lead the company’s transparency process through development of externally published LCAs, Environmental Product Declarations (EPD), Health Product Declaration (HPD), and other instruments of conveyance. Working with the VP of Sales and Marketing this position will work with internal and external stakeholders to execute the company’s material health strategy and certification efforts for all product categories in North America.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership on product sustainability using modern solutions and thinking to drive raw material optimization efforts for manufactured and sourced products.
- Managing the use of external consulting groups.
- Manage product sustainability certifications including C2C and other related valuation metrics.
- Manage necessary data, timelines, and criteria to ensure certifications remain up to date.
- Maintain material ingredient reporting and material health tools.
- Develop working documents to outline the workflow of each certification program.
- Assist in evaluating product portfolios, materials, and application processes for optimization of sustainability impacts of products and services. With the goal of reducing emissions and carbon footprint.
- Communicate the assessment methodology and findings to Product Sustainability business partners, Procurement, EHS, business units, Commercial/Marketing, and Technical teams.
- Manage and maintain bill of materials data.
- Research and implement best practices for managing product certification data
- Providing supplemental support in LCAs.
- Managing the LCA software and server system – GaBi.
- Managing and providing data for special projects, including Product/Code Evaluations, Company's Annual Sustainability Report, and other Sustainable Reporting.
- Representing Company on the ASTM E-60 Sustainability Technical Committee and others.
- Leading the green product attribute certifications, including the review and approval process.
- Provide support and help drive green product development through working directly with Science & Technology product developers.
- Actively participating as a committee member for the Company Green Literature approval process.
- Provide leadership to Life Cycle Management & Green Products Team for products and life cycle assessments.
- Contribute to the development of internal talents to strengthen Company's competency adding value for products through sustainability.
- Develop a strong network and providing counsel within the life cycle community, including participating in external technical and/or trade associations.
- Traveling to shows, different events, and the different locations within the RHC business.

Essential Functions
- Ability to communicate, accurately write or otherwise record information such that it is readily useable by coworkers, customers, vendors and others;

- Must be technically literate and have a good understanding of various sustainability equipment and software applications.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree in EH&S, Sustainability, or related field required
- Experience in product sustainability, corporate sustainability, or ESG, Proven track record of successfully leading Sustainability initiatives and basic chemistry knowledge.
- Experience with C2C, HPD’s, Carbon Footprints, Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions tools, and science-based targets.
