"Leading our Nations back to ecological and cultural well-being"
Arizona Conservation Corps (AZCC) engages motivated Indigenous young adults, ages 18 - 30, to complete challenging and impactful conservation and service projects throughout the western United States. Projects may include trail construction & maintenance, habitat improvement, hazardous fuels reduction, re-vegetation, historic preservation, and local environmental service projects. AZCC provides opportunities for members to learn about the local environment and issues surrounding conservation.
AZCC crews work in a variety of National Parks, National Forests, and other public areas. Selected members are placed on a crew that will then collaborate to perform project work. AZCC is a non-residential program and does not offer housing. Gear and equipment rental is available upon request.
Tohono O’odham Nation has been partnering with AZCC in conservation since 2018. TON crews have worked on traditional O’odham lands in partnership with the National Park Service and U. S. Forest Service, completing river restoration, traditional site restoration, resource inventory, fence construction, trail restoration, public education, and visitor interpretation work.
