We’re recruiting for a Health, Safety and Environment Co-ordinator to join Risk & Governance!
In the role of Health, Safety and Environment Co-ordinator, you will be responsible for site security processes to generate and promote a Health and Safety culture. You’ll be organising daily office administration duties and procedures to maintain a pleasant working environment, achieving high levels of effectiveness, communication, and safety.
The role will support the Health & Safety Manager in the development, implementation and review of all health, safety, and environment procedures, instilling a positive culture by awareness campaigns and continual improvement and environmental sustainability, whilst maintaining a health and safety management systems in accordance with the International Standards for Organisations.
This role will be based at e.surv Orion Park Office, in Kettering, (NN156PP), and flexibility can be discussed.
Key Accountabilities:
Facilities:
- To act as the liaison point of contact between e.surv and its parent company LSL Facilities dept on all premises and property management related matters – to include internal customers, plus landlords, surveyors, managing agents, local authorities and suppliers.
- Work with LSL facilities to organise facilities management across e.surv sites, including maintenance, ventilation, temperature, lighting, sanitary, washing and rest facilities.
- Support LSL Facilities with the sourcing and selection process for on-site contractors, arrangements, and performance.
- Undertake regular reviews and ensure anomalies are notified to the supplier and addressed.
- Perform routine inspection and maintenance activities, dealing with occurring deficiencies or need for repairs.
- Undertake emergency lighting and call point tests in accordance with the schedule.
- Organize prevention and precautions against, or adequate control of, exposure to hazardous substances, and danger from flammable, explosive electrical, noise, radiation, and manual handling risks.
- Assist LSL Facilities with the timely appointment of third-party specialists as necessary, specifically in cases of major works, interim schedules, or terminal dilapidation claims.
- Develop, implement, and maintain a framework to ensure that clear H&S roles and responsibilities are in place at each e.surv site.
Office:
- Take an active role of e.surv head office and other key sites to ensure the smooth running of the office and help improve company procedures and day to day operation.
- To develop, manage and maintain the head office secure door access system, including monitoring access and reporting breaches, managing starters and leavers, time zones, access rights and temporary pass allocation for employees, visitors and contractors.
- Office supply arrangements and greeting visitors,
- Ensure physical security arrangements are maintained – including managing on site security.
- Maintain statutory notice boards within all offices, including Law posters and employers’ liability insurance.

Health, Safety and Environment:
- Ensure own health and safety and that of colleagues by complying with both legal and policy requirements.
- Continually review the health and safety mailbox; immediately review and action as appropriate. Notify and escalate issues of dispute to the Health and Safety Manager.
- To provide assistance and holiday/sickness cover for the Health and Safety Manager.
- Review and action as appropriate any health and safety issues identified or raised, as applicable to all e.surv occupied premises.
General:
- Adhere to Quality Management guidelines, as directed, in line with the framework of ISO 9001.
- Work across a range of disciplines, overseeing predictive, reactive, and preventative maintenance approaches.
- Performing any other reasonable task as directed by the Health & Safety Manager.
Essential:
- A practical understanding of health and safety and environmental legislation and how it affects the organisation. (full training will be given).
- Ability to work as part of a team and to positively influence others.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience in implementing incident management and reporting.
- Familiarity of risk assessments and method statements.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours based on business needs.
- Good communication, judgement, and supervisory skills.
- Highly organised with the ability to work independently and prioritise own workload.
- Implementing risk assessment systems, process, including method statements.
- Intermediate to advanced level of all Microsoft packages.
- Knowledge of corporate governance.
- Understanding and completing risk assessments, method statements and permits to work.
- Working collaboratively with other departments and the wider group to develop practical and workable solutions.
- Proven experience of working to priorities and under pressure.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of ISO relevant standards including 27001, 45001, 22301, 9001 and 14001.
- Good personal skills to resolve problems.
- Working with third parties.
- Experience of working with staff across an organisation to develop practical and workable solutions.
- Knowledge of chemical and cleaning supplies (COSHH)
- Previous administrative experience or evidence of competence in related areas eg project work.
