SUMMARY OF ROLE

This position will be responsible for performing statistical failure rate projections for critical solar products (solar panels, microinverters, battery systems, communication devices, etc.) based upon actual field failure data and residential fleet population.  This position will work extensively with cross-functional departments such as Technical Support Engineering, Fleet Analytics, Finance and Accounting and Supplier Quality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Define a structured methodology for RMA and fleet population data collection from various databases and customer platforms such as Salesforce, Oracle, Snowflake, Qliksense, etc.)
    • Determine estimate failure rates of products through reliability statistics software such as Reliasoft, Relex, Minitab, JMP and ensure timely submission of failure rate reports. 
    • Define and document appropriate statistical models and parameters to be used in failure rate estimation (statistical models – maximum likelihood estimates, risk rank method, Weibull plots, etc.)
    • Perform final validation and check accuracy of RNMA and fleet data prior to execution of failure rate estimation. 
    • Serve as subject matter expert in failure rate estimation and be able to present and justify statistical data to external auditing firms, as necessary. 
    • Liaise with cross-functional teams (Warranty, Finance, Fleet Analytics, Technical Support Engineering, etc.) for data collection and proper review of failure rate projections prior to publication to external entities such as accounting auditing firms. 
    • Support the Warranty Team in defining appropriate product warranty strategies to mitigate high retrofit cost impact. 
    • Other duties that might be assigned, as necessary. 

RELATED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

    • B.S. degree in Engineering or Statistics and 8+ years of related experience or M.S. Degree and 5+ years or equivalent combination of education and years of related experience 
    • Minimum 5 years experience in statistical analysis/modeling and usage of Statistical or  Reliability prediction software such as Reliasoft, Minitab, Relex or JMP. 
    • Diverse knowledge of multiple manufacturing processes (semiconductor assembly, electro-mechanical assembly, wiring, painting, etc.)
    • Intensive ability in understanding product drawings, specifications and correlating potential product failure modes to product design and manufacturing processes.   
    • Experience in validation protocols of RMA cases. 
    • Intensive experience in a highly-matrixed organization with intensive cross-functional interaction. 
    • Proficient in MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.); experience in high-volume data analytics and reporting by using Excel, Tableau, Power BI or other tools. 
    • Results-driven and with good communication and presentation skills. 
    • Willing to work during North American shift.
    • ASQ Certified Reliability Engineer 
    • Experience in process improvement programs or Kaizen initiatives. 
    • Proficient in customer portals, PLM, databases or ERP systems – Salesforce, Oracle, Arena, Sharepoint, etc.
    • Able to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.

    • This is an FTE position.
    • Candidate must be willing to work in Binan Laguna
    • Candidate must be legally entitled to work and reside in the Philippines.
    • Candidate must be willing to render overtime as business requires (weekends, US/PH holidays)
    • Candidate must be flexible to work on a night shift schedule supporting North America region.
    • Candidate will be on flexible work arrangement (combination of onsite and remote work) (if applicable depending on the nature of the job)
    • Tool of Trade: Laptop/Desktop, Extended Monitor, Headset (as needed)
