Job Title: Hydrogen Technician

Overview: As a Hydrogen Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of hydrogen fuel cells, hydrogen production, storage, and distribution systems, as well as associated infrastructure. Your work will contribute to the advancement of clean energy technologies and the transition towards a sustainable hydrogen economy.

Responsibilities:

Installation and Commissioning:
Install hydrogen fuel cells, electrolyzers, hydrogen storage tanks, and associated equipment following manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols.
Conduct system integration and ensure proper functioning of components within the hydrogen infrastructure.
Maintenance and Inspection:
Perform routine maintenance tasks on hydrogen systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Conduct inspections and diagnostic tests to identify and address any issues or potential failures promptly.
Schedule and execute preventative maintenance procedures to minimize downtime and maximize system reliability.
Troubleshooting and Repair:
Diagnose malfunctions or abnormalities in hydrogen systems and implement effective solutions.
Conduct root cause analysis to determine the underlying reasons for failures and implement corrective actions.
Coordinate with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve complex technical issues.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to safety protocols and regulations governing the handling, storage, and transportation of hydrogen.
Implement proper safety procedures during maintenance, repair, and handling of hydrogen equipment to mitigate risks of accidents or incidents.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements related to hydrogen infrastructure and operations.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and equipment performance.
Generate reports detailing system status, maintenance schedules, and any incidents or deviations from operational norms.
Provide documentation and data necessary for regulatory compliance and quality assurance purposes.
Training and Support:
Provide training and guidance to other technicians or personnel involved in hydrogen system operations and maintenance.
Support customer inquiries, troubleshooting efforts, and technical inquiries related to hydrogen technologies.
Stay updated on industry developments, emerging technologies, and best practices in hydrogen technology through continuous learning and professional development.

Qualifications:
Associates degree or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, renewable energy, or a related field.
Strong understanding of hydrogen fuel cell technology, electrolysis, hydrogen production methods, and associated systems.
Hands-on experience with installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial equipment, preferably in the renewable energy or clean technology sector.
Knowledge of safety protocols, regulations, and best practices applicable to hydrogen handling and infrastructure.
Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Effective communication skills to interact with stakeholders, customers, and team members.
Certifications or training related to hydrogen safety, handling, or specific equipment (e.g., fuel cell certifications) are desirable.
