Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

On the billing side: 

  • Lead and manage a team of 8 people spread across 5 different locations in the US.
  • Ensure the recruitment and professional development of team members.
  • Review the existing invoicing process and propose adjustments to improve fluidification and ultimately reduced unbilled, improve DSO and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure availability of updated billing procedures and operating modes, prepare self explanatory materials to be shared with people involved in the billing process (project managers, administrative staff, etc.).
  • Ensure invoicing process is applied correctly and homogeneously in all regions.
  • Partner with technical and operational teams to ensure smooth invoicing.
  • Animate the billing function and ensure proximity with the operational teams to understand their constraints and clients’ expectations.
  • Ensure the correct transcription of invoicing operations into the monthly financial accounts.
  • Participate in solving the revenue recognition issues faced / rolling out the new revenue recognition module.
  • Implement relevant KPIs reporting.

On the collection side:

  • Collection responsibility lies in the regions, shared between finance and operations.
  • Financial analysts coordinate with Project Managers in case of overdue invoices. Sidetrade software will be rolled out in Q1 2024 and will contribute to strengthening the cash culture within the organization. 
  • Coordinate with the regional Director of Finance and financial analysts within the regions to facilitate collection and ensure ultimately DSO improvement.
  • Be the Sidetrade referent within the business unit, ensure users are well trained, administrate the tool.
  • Propose process improvements.
  • Prepare relevant KPI reports.
  • Take part in specific projects (means of payment, etc..) and liaise with Veolia North America central team whenever needed.

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required;  Accounting, Finance, a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 10 + years of total experience, with 7 years in a billing function and at least 3 years of experience in managing a team.

Work location: Hybrid position - 3 days/week onsite from Lombard, Indianapolis, Paramus, or Milwaukee area.
