About The Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Back-End Engineer to join our team at Solar Landscape. As a Back-End Engineer, you will play a key role in developing the server-side logic and infrastructure that power our applications aimed at supporting community solar projects. Your work will directly contribute to the scalability and robustness of our applications, ensuring they operate efficiently and reliably under high demands.

Responsibilities

    • Design and develop robust server-side logic using programming languages such as Java, Python, Ruby, or .NET.
    • Build and maintain scalable and efficient RESTful APIs for our web and mobile platforms.
    • Collaborate with front-end developers to ensure system integration and responsiveness.
    • Manage and optimize databases for optimal performance and reliability.
    • Implement security measures and data protection protocols to safeguard user data and system integrity.
    • Participate in code reviews, maintain code quality, and ensure best practices are followed.
    • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software to improve performance and address system failures.
    • Document development processes, code changes, and other technical information for reference and reporting.

Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
    • Proven experience as a Back-End Developer working on customer-facing applications, with a strong background in software development.
    • Expertise in server-side languages such as Java, Python, Ruby, or .NET.
    • Experience with database technology such as PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
    • Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their application within back-end development.
    • Knowledge of security practices and data protection between user interfaces and back-end servers.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with an aptitude for collaborative problem-solving.
