Vestas Global Procurement is responsible for all procurement activities within Vestas, including leading cross functional category teams, negotiations and contract management, development of end-2-end cost out initiatives, category strategy development and supplier relationship management.

This position is a rare opening - with extremely high attention from senior management. The role will become the overall responsible for the cooperation with some of our key strategic suppliers and a spend of +400m EUR in Towers.

 

This position will be part of the Towers & Steel category. This team, with members spread across all continents, is commercially responsible for Vestas global network of external tower manufacturing plants and the related procurement of all raw materials required for these.

 

Responsibilities

You will join a high-profiled position with a very high level of strategic exposure within Vestas. Your daily activities will be characterized by a very high tempo and requirement to engage in-, develop and prioritize between multiple different critical projects. Overall expected scope of work and deliverables include:

 

  • Overall responsible for the cooperation with some of Vestas' most strategic tower suppliers globally
  • Deliver added value through strategic supplier development and structured supplier account management, allowing you to identify new business opportunities and strengthen the partnership.
  • Align internally with both C-Level and Modules in relation to strategies and cooperation with suppliers, and steer the cross-functional team in charge of the interface and continuous performance evaluation of your assigned supplier accounts.
  • Follow the Supplier Engagement Playbook with increased focus on strategic activities in addition to operational tasks.
  • Lead contract and prices negotiations with your suppliers - for both current and future manufacturing footprints - in adherence to the corporate processes and standards, aiming at fulfilling all costs, delivery, quality, and sustainability targets to gain competitive advantages for Vestas.
  • Develop supplier development and monitor supplier performance with cross-functional team, including developing business case and monitor overall supplier performance on Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
  • Define the framework and best practices to guide other supplier account partners in the Tower Teams worldwide. By showcasing how to master Supplier Relationship Management, you will take an important part of the organizational development and long-term vision of the Towers team.
  • Lead Supplier Account Plan development and deliver global Business Review Meetings with global and regional teams.
  • Ensure developing the manufacturing footprint strategy for Vestas' towers including business case evaluation and strategy development and ensure effective implementation of this strategy with your assigned suppliers and key internal stakeholders.
  • Build a key network within Vestas - including close engagement in the Towers module team with colleagues from Technology, Planning, Finance and Quality - enabling you to influence, collaborate and partner with business leaders to deliver results for Vestas.
  • Actively engage in the global Towers & Steel team, building for growth with your colleagues across the globe.

 

Qualifications

As a Supplier Account Partner, you are expected to show the great example and challenge the organization in our ways of working. The right candidate for this role will:

 

  • have minimum 6 years of experience within Strategic Purchasing combined with a degree in either Supply Chain Management, Sales/Marketing, Engineering, or alike.
  • be an expert in Supplier Relationship Management, with experience with developing account management for suppliers with very high spends (>100 million USD).
  • demonstrate world class stakeholder management skills, with the experience to engage with internal and external stakeholders from all levels of seniority.
  • display good written, verbal and listening skills, to communicate - negotiate - influence effectively.
  • be fluent in English, both verbal and written. In addition, fluency in Korean is beneficial.
  • hold advanced skills within PPT and Excel.
  • have experience working across different cultures and regions. Also, experience within an industrial environment is beneficial.

  • Team-oeriented with an open approach to encourage stakeholder inputs, combined with structured and fact-based methods to secure value-adding ideas are prioritized and efficiently implemented.
  • Holistic and positive mindset: you are able to see the big picture from Vestas product offerings towards customers and the ability to connect these to supplier offerings and how they can positively impact Vestas sales and cost out programs.
  • Results-oriented profile with the capability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good work ethic, with a process oriented mindset and an inner desire to continuously improve.
