ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Product Manager to lead the development and evolution of our community solar asset management software. As a key member of our product management team, you will be responsible for defining the product strategy, driving innovation, and delivering solutions that meet the evolving needs of our clients and the renewable energy industry. This position will report directly to the VP, Product Management.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop and own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for our community solar asset management software, aligning with the company's overall goals and objectives.
    • Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics in the community solar industry.
    • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, sales, and customer success, to translate market insights into actionable product requirements and deliverables.
    • Lead the prioritization and planning of product development initiatives, balancing short-term deliverables with long-term strategic goals.
    • Define clear product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria, ensuring alignment with stakeholder expectations and business objectives.
    • Drive the execution of product development projects, overseeing all aspects of the product lifecycle from concept to launch.
    • Act as the primary advocate for the product, representing the voice of the customer and championing user-centric design principles throughout the organization.
    • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success and effectiveness of the product, regularly monitoring performance and making data-driven decisions to optimize outcomes.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements related to community solar asset management, leveraging insights to inform product strategy and innovation.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

    • Proven track record in product management roles, with demonstrated success in leading the development and launch of software products in renewable energy or related industries.
    • Deep understanding of community solar business models, market dynamics, and regulatory requirements.
    • Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking ability, with the capacity to synthesize complex information and make data-driven decisions.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders and influence cross-functional teams.
    • Experience working in an agile development environment, with proficiency in agile methodologies and tools.
    • Passion for sustainability and renewable energy, with a genuine commitment to making a positive impact on the environment and society.

PREFERRED COMPETENCIES

    • Minimum 5 years in product management roles.
    • Experience in the community solar industry.
    • Experience with complex data architectures.
    • Experience with data and business analytics patterns and best practices.
    • Familiarity with software-as-a-service (SaaS) business models and subscription-based pricing strategies.
    • Experience with user-centered design principles and methodologies, such as design thinking or lean UX.
    • Experience with design tools such as Figma or Sketch.
    • Passion for process development and refinement, especially in a rapidly changing industry.
$85,000 - $140,000 a year
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The base salary range for this position is $85,000 - $140,000 depending on relevant experience, along with eligibility for the company’s substantial bonus plan, with a target bonus of 30% of annual salary (prorated in the first year based on start date).
