Job Description

This position is on-site at our Rancho Belago location. The pay range is $28-$35 an hour.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Forklift Battery Technician will perform all forklift battery inspections. They must have the ability to follow all safety rules and regulations, with the understanding of extended safety requirements in the maintenance, forklift and technical.  This individual must have their own tools. They will also be responsible for upholding the standard policies and procedures within their assigned department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Ability to diagnose mechanical or electrical failures.
  • Able to read and understand schematics, blueprints, etc.
  • Perform battery inspections.
  • Battery watering and cleaning
  • Replace worn or faulty battery watering system.
  • Replace worn or damaged battery connectors.
  • Keep documentation and records of watering completion for each asset.
  • Operate a variety of equipment such as gold carts, reach trucks, sit-downs, electric pallet jacks, swing reach, and order pickers.
  • Perform voltage testing.
  • Maintain parts inventory.
  • Ensure work orders are filled out properly and submitted.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of all shop tools.
  • Prevent and clean any acid spills.
  • Must be able to perform any other special projects and/or general requests made by direct supervisor as needed.
  • Keep daily communication with supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of all applicable safety rules and regulations, with the understanding of extended safety required in the Maintenance, electrical, technical trades required to perform repairs on the above listed equipment through previous training and or job experience as well as any classroom training.
  • Must be CAL OSHA certified on a Turret, Reach, Order Picker, Walker Rider, Manual Pallet equipment, etc.
  • Ability to keep the department OSHA Compliant.
  • Communicate with upper management daily.
  • Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Must be able to take constructive criticism.
  • Must always exhibit the ability to work in a professional and courteous manner.  
  • Ability to contribute hands on.
  • Work with minimal supervision.
