Octopus Energy Business has exciting opportunities to join our field team, helping small businesses. Over the last few years, we’ve been changing the landscape of traditional field sales and re-inventing customer interactions within the domestic energy market. 

We’re now revolutionising the business energy market, with a focus on helping micro businesses with our transparent approach to engaging with new business prospects. We're focused on making energy greener and better, for everyone - both at home and at work. We put our customers first, every time, and are looking for amazing people to help us do that!

Here at Octopus, we’re working hard to reinvent face to face activity by combining better customer data, our innovative tech platform (Kraken Technologies) with local targeted marketing in order to create more detailed and engaging conversations with small business owners. You’ll be at the frontline of our brand and as such, you’re responsible for showing the best of Octopus Energy Business.

What you'll do

    • Communicate with businessesOur Business Energy Helpers spend their time talking to small business owners and decision makers explaining the benefits of renewable energy and helping them switch to Octopus Energy Business
    • We are obsessed with excellent customer experience and we go above and beyond to ensure this happens with every business we speak to, leaving them feeling positive about Octopus, regardless if they switch
    • We engage with customers via a few different channels, at their business is the main one, however we also showcase our services at venues, events and some of the best business expos and conferences around the country - our Business Energy Helpers look after these Help us shape the small business products we offer to businesses - feedback we receive from customers helps us build new tariffs, launch new initiatives and make changes to our existing tariffs - our teams of Business Energy Helpers are key to us getting this information from customers, quickly
    • Enhance the customers experience, we’ll give you the tools to chat about domestic energy, solar, heat pumps and many more additional services

What you'll need

    • We tend to work in small teams however at times our Business Energy Helpers will work autonomously, an ability to self motivate and be confident working on your own is a must
    • Honest and hard working approach to each day is probably the most important attribute we look for in Business Energy Helpers - our teams all love helping customers and each other 
    • Previous experience in a B2B role or in the energy industry would be advantageous, although not essential 
    • Understanding of the business sales cycle, including diary planning and pipeline management would be helpful
    • We’re a caring team who like to keep in touch with each other, we have daily team check ins and weekly regional and department wide catch ups - please don’t think of corporate type meetings - we don’t take ourselves that seriously!
    • An appetite to learn new things, work with some really switched on people and treat people in a fair and respectful manner
