The Finance Controller Netherlands will be a member of the EMEA Finance team and the Business Unit Benelux and will report directly to the EMEA Controller.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive controller who will be responsible for leading all day-to-day accounting activities for our operations in the Benelux. In addition, the role will lead the month end close process from start to finish and ensure proper financial reporting for our Benelux business. You will proactively lead the discussions on contract reviews, financial analysis, control performances and work together in a seamless and professional manner.
As the Finance Controller Netherlands, you will:
· lead the day to day work of external & internal parties supporting on the accounting as well as being responsible for the complete accounting process for the Netherlands
· develop the financial administration for the Benelux business unit
· support the greater EMEA finance team in completing the closing procedures
· lead the local financial statement close process (US GAAP and Dutch GAAP) and be responsible for reporting monthly results and analysis
· develop long standing trusted relationships with various internal and external parties and collaborate seamlessly in a professional manner to ensure financial compliance in the Netherlands
· develop, lead and implement process improvement intiatives for the Netherlands
· lead statutory and group audit procedures and perform efficient audit management
· develop efficient and effective internal control structure for the Benelux business unit
· lead SOX compliance and reporting for the Benelux business unit
· consider and balance technical accounting requirements and operational business needs
REQUIRED SKILLS
The ideal candidate has a master’s degree in accounting or business administration and at least 8 years of progressive accounting experience, having started her/his career at a large international accounting advisory firm, followed by in-house experience. You will need to be hands-on and a pro-active self-starter with a proven track record of grit and determination to drive process improvements.
You will have:
• in-depth knowledge of US and Dutch regulations
• experience in creating financial statements for Dutch purposes
• attention for detail and can connect financial and operational compliance requirements
• strong analytical skills
•Register Accountant (RA) license is considered a strong plus
• experience with ASC-606 and percentage of completion construction agreements
• good communicator, good stakeholder management skills and a proactive personality
• ability to work in a dynamic organization, embracing change and working independently
• fluent English and Dutch verbal and written language skills are required
• SAP experience is a plus
PREFERRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
· Ideally high energy, proactive, hands-on, solutions-oriented contributor, possessing an intellectual curiosity and eager to strive for constant improvements
· Energy or energy storage business knowledge is an advantage
