Description

The Department of Environmental Science and Studies at Washington College invites applications for a one year Visiting Assistant Professor (VAP) or Lecturer in Environmental Science starting in August 2024. A successful VAP must have a Ph.D. in Environmental Science or related discipline and a successful lecturer must have a M.S. in Environmental Science or related discipline. The successful candidate will contribute to our curriculum through offering two Change Climate lectures and labs in fall 2024 and by offering two upper-level courses with labs in spring 2025. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to rigorous and inclusive, environmental education; the ability to develop innovative courses; and the potential for engaging undergraduate students both within and outside the classroom, including mentoring senior thesis students and contributing to departmental service, where appropriate. Individuals who can bring expertise related to climate change will be given preference.

Qualifications

Visiting Asst Professor: Qualified candidates must have a Ph.D. in Environmental Science or a closely related discipline with expertise related to climate change. 

Lecturer: Qualified candidates must have a M.S. in Environmental Science or a closely related discipline with expertise related to climate change.
