As Phononic’s Product Manager for Sustainable HVAC Solutions, you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and sustainability within the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) industry. Your mission will be to develop and manage a portfolio of environmentally conscious HVAC platforms and licensee products that align with our organization’s commitment to more environmentally sustainable cooling solutions.

Responsibilities

1. Product Strategy and Development:

• Conduct market research to understand customer needs, industry trends, and regulatory requirements related to energy efficiency and environmental impact.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product marketing, engineering, and supply chain, to identify and prioritize development of sustainable HVAC platforms and features.
• Define platform and licensee product roadmaps, feature sets, and release schedules based on market insights and business goals.

2. Product Lifecycle Management:

• Oversee the platform roadmap and overall lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the competitive landscape, emerging technologies, and industry standards.
• Work closely with engineering teams to ensure efficient development and timely delivery of sustainable HVAC solutions.

3. Environmental Impact Assessment:

• Collaborate with sustainability experts to assess the environmental impact of potential HVAC products.
• Evaluate life cycle assessments (LCAs), carbon footprints, and other sustainability metrics as needed.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and drive initiatives to reduce environmental impact with platform innovation.

4. Stakeholder Engagement:

• Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, licensees, ecosystem partners, and regulatory bodies.
• Communicate the value proposition of sustainable HVAC solutions and build buy-in across the organization and with licensees.
• Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and working groups.

5. Cost Estimation and Budgeting:

• Work with supply chain and finance teams to develop cost estimates for proposed new platforms and improvements.
• Manage budgets for platform development, ensuring positive ROI for R&D investments.

6. Reporting and Compliance:

• Prepare regular reports on product performance, sustainability metrics, and market adoption.
• Ensure compliance with relevant environmental regulations and certifications. 

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, business, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Proven experience in product management, preferably in HVAC, sustainability, or related domains.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Passion for sustainability and a deep understanding of environmental challenges.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
