Position Summary

  

The position is responsible for managing, directing, and overseeing EHS programs, strategy, and staff activities to create and enforce a culture of safety and environmental compliance across the Biomerics organization. It reports to the VP of Quality & Regulatory.


  Responsibilities

  • Lead the corporate safety committee and interact with business and functional leaders to drive a culture of safety throughout the organization.
  • Implement programs and policies to ensure Biomerics and its employees comply with all federal, state, and internal environmental, health, and safety regulations. Lead Continuous Improvement initiatives regarding EHS policies and programs.
  • Perform incident investigations and annual audits at Biomerics facilities. Help develop corrective action plans as needed.
  • Collect and store corporate OSHA 300 logs and identify Workers Comp. and overall safety trends.
  • Review OSHA or other regulatory reports and findings to monitor performance and detect trends related to health and safety.
  • Document and maintain EPA IDs and other regulatory permits for US locations.
  • Conduct job hazard analysis and recommend actions to address identified hazards.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to local leadership and EHS teams. 
  • Manage Hazardous Waste (WAA, profiles, and coordinate disposal).
  • Attain and maintain appropriate licenses and certifications relevant to known hazards at various Biomerics locations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of Federal/State Regulatory Requirements (OSHA, DOT, EPA)
  • Working knowledge of chemical safety and hygiene
  • Experience managing organizations and developing employees
  • Minimum 6+ years of professional EHS experience
