Job Description

As Sustainability Project Manager, you will play an important role in supporting the integration of sustainability across UN1F1ED2 from the ground up. This role will work very closely with our newly appointed Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) to drive the implementation of UN1F1ED2’s sustainability approach, working cross-functionally with members of UN1F1ED2’s Sustainability Council and other relevant subject matter experts to define roadmaps and execute on key initiatives.

We are looking for a self-starter, with sustainability subject matter expertise, who is highly collaborative and possesses strong project management, communications and analytical skills. The ideal candidate can work with minimal oversight, is a continuous learner and has the ability to see the big picture, while focusing on the details. The Sustainability Project Manager will support the planning, monitoring and management of internal projects and roadmaps to help us achieve our goal.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support all aspects of sustainability programs by developing core processes for project prioritization, execution and tracking.
  • Support and project manage sustainability initiatives by utilizing project management tools to plan and execute projects working with internal teams.
  • Plan, prepare for and manage Sustainability Council meetings and related materials.
  • Prepare initial drafts of briefing materials and communications to support programmatic needs.
  • Convene and manage subgroups that bring together facilities and operations teams on specific topic areas and clearly articulate goals, progress, and outcomes to advance shared work and shared outcomes.
  • Support implementation of environmental management system
  • Collect, organize, and analyze sustainability data for internal and external communication.
  • Support the development of our greenhouse gas inventory, working in collaboration with consultants.
  • Manage EcoVadis sustainability assessment.
  • Develop and document established processes.
  • Influence and manage continuous improvement of project /program, processes and initiatives.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental or sustainability sciences, packaging, engineering or business
  • 3+ years of professional experience or master’s degree in a related field of work or (e.g., sustainability, environmental management, etc.)
  • Passion for driving sustainability achievements
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to structure and advance multiple cross-functional initiatives simultaneously
  • Ability to influence others to achieve results
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems
  • Ability to conduct research and analysis on various topics and produce reliable metrics and data
  • High degree of flexibility, adaptability, and general ability to work within in a constantly changing environment
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to travel approximately 10%

Preferred Qualification

  • Understanding of sustainability principles, issues and the methods with which sustainability can be integrated into business operations.
  • Advance knowledge of environmental management systems (EMS) ISO 14001, a plus
