Position Description

The Project Scheduling Manager or Director position, reporting to the “Sr Director of Project Controls” and dotted line reporting to the VP Projects and Construction provides functional leadership support to the portfolio of projects that they are assigned to. This position serves as key liaison to the EPC team to develop, manage and monitor Schedules, and Risk Management aspects of the portfolio.

The Project Scheduling Manager or Director is a regular, full-time position, and is eligible for our generous employee benefits package, including employer paid health insurance, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employer matching contributions, and other great benefits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and maintain integrated (resources loaded) master schedules (initiation to close out including Development, EPC planning, Procurement, Construction Execution, Commissioning, and closeout phases) for the assigned projects and portfolios.
  • Responsible for the development of reliable tools, systems & processes, and adopts Scheduling best practices necessary to successfully develop baseline schedules and track progress from project initiation to completion (all stages of the project lifecycle).
  • Responsible for Schedule change and risk management.
  • Responsible for working with Project Developers, EPC Project Managers, Procurement & Supply Chain, EPC Contractors, subcontractors and other stakeholder departments to:
    • Complete Critical Path Analysis, Schedule Variance Analysis, schedule impact analysis and identify/recommend actions needed to mitigate any delays.
    • Proactively evaluate schedule risks, identify potential schedule delays or conflicts and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Develop monthly and quarterly project reports both at project and portfolio level indicating progress against baseline schedules.
  • Own and maintain P6 scheduling software including license administration, system maintenance, security, and template supporting the execution of Origis portfolio projects.
  • Train Origis stakeholders in Scheduling Best Practices including maintaining project schedules, evaluating vendor schedules, develop internal schedule templates, proposal schedule evaluations, change management etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, project management, engineering, technical, or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years of Scheduling experience managing multiple projects and portfolios with proficiency in Primavera P6 software (15 Years Scheduling Experience and Solar Industry Experience required for Director level position)
  • Proficient in project controls principles
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving ability
  • Rigorous and detailed orientated with the highest regard for accuracy and completeness
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in an integrated team environment
  • Experience with ERP and business analytics tools (SAP S/4Hana and Power BI preferred)
  • High proficiency in Excel; MS Project, Visio, and SAP a plus
  • Experience in construction/project-oriented operating environment – solar industry a plus
  • Knowledge of percentage of completion revenue recognition a plus
  • Subcontract administration and change management experience a plus
  • Prior construction scheduling claims and/or litigation experience a plus
