Job Description

Purpose / Overview
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced HSSE Associate to join our team at PowerGen Renewable Energy. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of the Health, Safety, Social, and Environment (HSSE) program across our project sites and operations in Nigeria.

 
Responsibilities:
1) Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with HSSE standards and identify areas for improvement
2) Ensure compliance with company policies and safe work procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
3) Conduct training sessions and workshops on HSSE-related topics for employees and contractors to increase awareness and promote a culture of safety.
4) Participate in incident investigations and support the development of corrective and preventive actions.
5) Maintain and update HSSE-related records, reports, and documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
6) Coordinate with other departments to ensure compliance with HSSE-related requirements, such as safe work procedures, emergency response plans and hazard communication programs.
7) Ensure that all necessary HSSE permits and licenses are obtained and maintained.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in OSH, Environmental science or a relevant field
• NEBOSH IGC certification
• At least 4 years’ experience in a HSSE role in an energy production company.
• Demonstrate knowledge of relevant regulations, industry standards such as OSHA Act and NEMSA Safety protocols
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible to travel to various project sites.
