Industrial PhD students in smart manufacturing to the Northvolt Excellence Systems team in Skellefteå.

We are now looking for 3 PhD students to our Mother Plant team at Northvolt Ett in Skellefteå.

One will be exploring how to implement a robust excellence/production system, such as the Scania or
Toyota production systems, in a rapid scale-up and two will focus on understanding how to create
operational readiness for the establishment of new Gigafactories.

Northvolt is enabling the future of energy by making the world’s greenest batteries. Through our drive to enable a greener future, we create an abundance of knowledge and are in a unique position for learning how to build, implement and operate highly automated factories.

Our PhD students will be part of a multidisciplinary team of the people who design, build, implement, and run our current and future factories which makes this a unique opportunity for high performing team players who really want to make a difference.

The positions will be located in Skellefteå where we are opening up this research team together with Mälardalens University (MDH) as part of their Industrial Technology Graduate School (INDTECH) and Campus Skellefteå. Travelling to other MDH sites as well as other Northvolt sites will be part of the work. You will report to our Mother Plant Manager who is part of our Operational Excellence Team and you will be guided by MDH professors.

Please apply as soon as possible, we look forward to receiving your application. Planned starting date: 1st May 2024
