Job Description

As Solar Development Project Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, development, and execution of solar energy projects from origination handoff to completion. This role requires strong project management skills, technical expertise in solar energy systems, and the ability to coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans outlining timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure alignment with project objectives and deadlines.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to determine project viability and resource requirements.
  • Manage the permitting process, including obtaining necessary approvals and licenses from regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to solar energy development and construction.
  • Procure materials, equipment, and services required for project implementation.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely delivery and quality of work.
  • Manage project budgets and resources effectively to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.
  • Review technical specifications and drawings to ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements alongside Engineering team and consultants. 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including clients, investors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on project progress, milestones, and challenges.
  • Address stakeholder concerns and ensure timely resolution of issues to maintain project momentum.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks through proactive planning and risk assessment.
  • Monitor project performance metrics and take corrective actions as needed to achieve project goals.
Requirements: 
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Business Administration, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience managing solar energy projects, with a minimum of 5 years in a project management role.
  • In-depth knowledge of solar energy technologies.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • PMP certification or equivalent is a plus.
