Hours/Shift
 
The role is on day shift (08:00 to 16:45) but will involve ‘out of hours’ work when necessary.

Position Details
 
The role will ensure the company’s Quality and Environmental Management Systems are managed, monitored, developed, and maintained to ensure all functions operate to the highest possible quality and environmental standards.
 
This is a key role within the business, providing essential management in the areas of Quality and Environment and to help foster a culture of continuous improvement to assist the business in attaining the highest level of customer satisfaction. The position will coordinate future strategic initiatives to achieve the company objectives for sustainability and carbon reduction.
 
Main Areas of responsibility

• Responsibility for the documented QMS / EMS systems and maintain certification to ISO EN 9001 & 14001
• Ensure compliance with current legislation and best practice, ensuring that any new legislative changes are brought to the attention of the responsible Director.
• Conduct monthly and annual internal & external audits.
• Ensure KPI’s are set, and standards met to enhance customer satisfaction.
• Ensure consistency of quality and environmental standards across all functions.
• Deliver relevant quality and environmental training programmes to all staff as appropriate.
• Provide relevant responses for customer information requests in a timely manner.
• Attend / chair monthly review meetings to drive improvement.
• Coordinate project activity to enhance future business performance. For example, eliminate waste, carbon reduction, recycling initiatives, customer claims.
• Performance management of QMS & EMS and regular reporting to Senior Management as appropriate

Training and Education

The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a similar manufacturing environment undertaking tasks comparable to the role.
• Experience of implementing environmental strategy to meet current & future market requirements – sustainability, carbon reduction, circular economy.
• Extensive knowledge of ISO 9001 quality standards and ISO 14001 environmental standards.
• Skilled auditor.
• Attention to detail, analytical and thorough in the follow through of identified improvements.
• Good interpersonal skills - able to influence and motivate.
• Problem solving - using a structured approach.
• Personal credibility and respect from shop floor and management
• Where necessary relevant training and education will be provided.
• Whilst we will consider applicants on an experience basis the ideal candidate will have relevant qualifications in Quality & Environmental management.
• A Full UK Driving License is required
