Your new role

As our new Process Engineer (m/w/d), your key responsibilities will be:

  • Preparation of process related documentation for Concept or FEED studies; including process simulations, Heat & Material balance, Process and Utility Flow Diagrams (PFDs and UFDs), Piping & Instrumentation diagrams (PIDs) and system descriptions (process and utility systems)
  • Design calculations and specification of process equipment, such as liquefaction plants, reactors, gas treatment, scrubbers, separators, compressors, valves, pumps and storage systems
  • CAPEX Cost Engineering and supplier management
  • Integrate sustainability principles into the production process, such as minimizing waste and energy consumption
  • Specialist studies to define feasible and suitable solutions or concepts for various process plants e.g. Due Diligence
  • Manage and coordinate design reviews as well as HAZOP and HAZID
  • Work closely with the Project Manager as the Technical project lead.
  • Coordinate with Engineering Disciplines required.
  • Writing of Standard operating procedures and coordinating with Vendor related SOP
  • Possibility to be involved in site supervision and assistance in commissioning and start-up.

Your new team

You will be part of our H2 & Power-to-X department.

As our new Process Engineer (CO2) you will be part of a team of other process engineers and discipline engineers located in Germany and abroad. That tackle lots of interesting, challenging and varied projects within the Energy sector and participating in the transition to greener fuels e.g. Hydrogen, methanol and ammonia. We are a busy and energetic team with a positive mindset always looking for the next challenge. We work both with early phase studies (Feasibility, Concept and FEED) but also on detailed design projects, mainly for onshore facilities within Hydrogen and Power to X technologies, Gas and LNG and projects within CO2 transport and storage. Our focus as Ramboll Germany is on the local market but we have projects within Denmark and Europe as well as other parts of the world.

About you

These include:

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Understanding the basic need for change in the energy sector of the future
  • Approximately 4-7 years of experience within Process Engineering, with special focus on the circular carbon economy and Power-to-X related sector (Hydrogen. Methanol, Ammonia, SAF)
  • Experience within electrolysis, synthesis processes, pyrolysis or gasification will be highly valued
  • A background with energy power plants or the oil&gas industry is highly valued
  • Knowledge of cryogenic systems in general, regarding process equipment, design, and technology
  • Knowledge of applicable design industry codes and standards, such as ASME, DIN, API, NORSOK or relevant O&G company engineering standards
  • Excellent English skills since this is our corporate language. German language is required
