DIS is looking for an Economist, with a background in environmental science, who is responsible for using current business intelligence, trend, business, financial, geographic, market and economic data to synthesize and analyze data, create written reports, and present recommendations for review by executives, managers, clients, and other stakeholders. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) methodology and the GREET model is strongly desired.

· Develop and maintain a network of contacts in industry and government to facilitate the acquisition of essential data and information

· Develop new uses for existing data and suggest new proposals for data collection and presentation

· Develop and manage data for use in client analysis

· Analyze and manage agricultural, population, housing, economic, environmental, census and other datasets as appropriate

· Prepare, report and present material, including references for clients and for internal DIS usage within assigned timeline

· Understand current and anticipate future needs for current and prospective clients

· Propose and develop analytical solutions and tools for solving client research challenges

· Ability to demonstrate our company values in everyday work interactions

· All other duties as assigned

Requirements

  

· Candidates possessing practical farm production and/or value-added agriculture experience will be prioritized

· BS Degree in Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, Mathematics, Environmental Science or related field is required

· Research/regression analysis experience in the agricultural and agribusiness industries is preferred

· Must be familiar with mapping data (i.e., ArcGIS), economic modeling, market analysis, spatial analysis and have good problem-solving skills, including mathematical, inductive, and deductive reasoning

· Must have strong technical and report writing skills with proficiency in English language spelling and grammar

· Experience using SQL, Tableau, SAS, and R Software tools is desired

· Must be proficient using Office 365 applications and working within a SharePoint collaborative environment (i.e., Teams)

· Specific experience working in Excel and spreadsheet construction and management of data using advanced Excel functions and utilities is required

· Must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and can handle multiple projects simultaneously

· Must be able to legally work in the United States without sponsorship
