Our team are seeking an Environmental Scientist/Engineer to complete field and office-based work associated with site contamination assessment and remediation. We are looking for an energetic and passionate team member who is motivated by success.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in assessing, managing a full range of field-based site assessment activities.  Fyfe encourages the development of expertise in areas of interest. Supported by a team of experienced specialists, you will have a good grounding in contaminated land principles, soil, groundwater and soil vapour sampling methodologies and regulatory guidelines.

Role responsibilities

  • Conducting site assessments to identify potential sources of contamination.
  • Proficiency in high quality fieldwork and using a variety of sampling techniques and equipment.
  • Fieldwork planning including safety protocols and checks.
  • Preparing comprehensive technical reports and presentations for clients, regulators, and stakeholders.
  • Procurement and supervision of subcontractor services.
  • Support with proposal preparation and budgeting.
  • Keeping up to date with environmental regulations and industry trends to ensure compliance and the application of best practices.

What we are looking for

  • Tertiary degree in related Science, Engineering or Environmental Management fields.
  • Ability to work on project sites in accordance with all safety, quality and environmental procedures.
  • Demonstrated interest in a career as a contaminated land consultant and a desire to grow and grasp opportunities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present and summarise data.
  • Confident in providing input to reports and present clear opinions in both the written and verbal formats.
  • Enthusiasm to develop as a professional and make a contribution in an agile and responsive team.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
