The Metal Shop Laborer will play a crucial role in the efficient operation of our metal recycling facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. Key Responsibilities: Material Handling: Assist in the handling, sorting, and processing of various types of scrap metal materials. Equipment Operation: Operate machinery and equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and balers to move and process metal materials safely and efficiently. Quality Control: Ensure that all materials meet quality standards and are sorted correctly according to type and grade. General Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, guidelines, and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve daily production goals and objectives. Housekeeping: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the metal shop area to promote a safe and efficient working environment. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred. Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks. Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. Commitment to safety and adherence to safety guidelines and procedures.
