Description

Position Overview: As a Welder at Weitsman Recycling, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing equipment, structures, and machinery used in our recycling processes. The Welder will be responsible for executing welding projects to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our facilities. Responsibilities:

  1. Welding Operations:
    • Perform various types of welding, including MIG, TIG, and arc welding, to repair and fabricate metal components.
    • Work with a variety of materials, such as steel and aluminum, to meet project specifications.
  2. Equipment Maintenance:
    • Inspect, maintain, and repair machinery, conveyor systems, and other equipment using welding techniques.
    • Conduct routine checks on welding equipment to ensure proper functionality.
  3. Blueprint Interpretation:
    • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand project requirements.
  4. Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure the quality and integrity of welds, following established procedures and guidelines.
    • Conduct inspections and testing to verify the strength and durability of welded joints.
  5. Safety Compliance:
    • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and following established safety procedures.
  6. Collaboration:
    • Work closely with maintenance teams, engineers, and other departments to identify and address welding-related issues promptly.
    • Communicate effectively to report progress, challenges, and completed tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Welder, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Certification in welding techniques is highly desirable.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Proficient in various welding methods, including MIG, TIG, and arc welding.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and willingness to adhere to them strictly.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform welding tasks in various positions and environments.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Vocational training or certification in welding is a plus.
