 The Purchasing Manager is responsible for optimizing our procurement processes, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. This career requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or other related field, Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills, and prior experience in a Purchasing Manager role

I.                   Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements strategic sourcing plans to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.

 

  • Identifies and evaluates potential suppliers, negotiates contracts, and establishes strong relationships with key vendors.

 

  • Negotiates favorable terms, conditions, and pricing agreements with suppliers to achieve cost savings and improve overall procurement efficiency.

 

  • Continuously monitors market trends and pricing to identify opportunities for cost reduction.

 

  • Evaluates and manages supplier performance, addressing any issues or discrepancies in a timely manner.

 

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to qualify and assesses new suppliers, ensuring they meet quality, reliability, and ethical standards.

 

  • Works closely with inventory and warehouse teams to optimize stock levels and reduce carrying costs.

 

  • Implements inventory control measures to minimize overstock and stockouts, ensuring a balance between supply and demand.

 

  • Stays informed about relevant laws and regulations related to procurement, ensuring compliance at all times.

 

  • Assesses and mitigates potential risks in the supply chain, implementing proactive measures to safeguard the organization’s interests.

 

  • Identifies opportunities for process improvements within the procurement function and implements best practices to enhance efficiency.

 

  • Streamlines procurement processes, utilizing technology and automation where applicable.

 

  • Collaborates with finance teams to develop and manage the procurement budget.

 

  • Monitors and reports on spending against budget, providing insights and recommendations for improvements.

 

  • Fosters effective communication and collaboration with internal stakeholders, including operations, finance, and quality control teams.

 

  • Provides regular updates on procurement activities, performance metrics, and cost saving initiatives.

 

  • Other job duties as assigned.

 

II.                REQUIRED Skills / Abilities

  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills

 

  • Excellent communication both written and verbal.

 

  • In-depth knowledge of supply chain management principles.

 

  • Anility to work in a fast-paced environment.

 

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

 

III.             Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.

 

  • Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager.

 

  • Previous experience with procurement software and tools.

 

  • Prior management experience is required.
