The role will be responsible for managing and overseeing all activities relating to purchasing goods and services including tracking open commitments, managing/controlling cost, and reporting on all spending. This role will also be responsible for all other vendor payment-related functions. This role reports to the Assistant Controller within the Controllership function.

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage team of purchasing and accounts payable analysts.
  • Partner cross functionally to facilitate efficient and effective purchase order processing, vendor payments, cost tracking and variance analysis
  • Provide cash outflow reporting and projections to Treasury group
  • Supervise weekly vendor pay runs
  • Work closely with Legal and Accounting teams to ensure compliance and controls across purchasing and related agreements and processes.
  • Develop and implement system improvements and automation to streamline the procure to pay process.
  • Assist in vendor onboarding and compliance including review of approved vendor listing.
  • Analyze purchasing data and metrics and provide reporting and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Promote cost control by seeking cost-saving opportunities and assisting in the development of cost reduction strategies.
  • Drive system improvements and automations to streamline reporting on costs committed and incurred.
  • Assist in implementing purchasing strategies to optimize cost savings.
  • Supervise and resolve vendor account issues as they arise
  • Support ad-hoc requests accounting FP&A and senior leadership.

 

Qualifications/ Requirements

  • Experience in supply chain, procure to pay, or business administration.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems and how to extract data and analyze in bulk
  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Track record of either building or heavily influencing the build of a purchasing function, from processes to people and systems.

  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and follow through on issues in a timely manner.

 

Work location: NYC Hybrid (minimum of 1 day a week)

Minimum Education – Bachelors (4year) Degree
