Liquid Trees is dedicated to harnessing the power of diatoms as a natural solution for capturing atmospheric carbon. We focus on removing pollutants from freshwater systems using native microalgae and diatoms, which sequester CO2 through photosynthesis. Our efforts are concentrated on two primary domains:

Carbon Capture: as a natural solution for capturing atmospheric carbon.

Water bioremediation: for pollutants removal from water bodies



This research-based position will play a crutial role in the development and implementation of a strategy to apply our methodology in marine water conditions.

The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of Phytoplankton, Coastal Oceanography, ocean biogeochemistry and ocean carbon dynamics.

Responsibilities:

Research and Analysis:
-Conduct comprehensive reviews and analyses of existing mCDR technologies
-Stay updated on the latest developments, advancements, and research findings in the field.
- Statistical data analysis

Strategy Development:
- Develop innovative and effective strategies for mCDR.
- Organize and coordinate innovative studies to apply these strategies in different locations.

Feasibility Assessment:
-Evaluate the feasibility of implementing diatom-based mCDR in targeted locations, considering environmental, regulatory, and logistical factors.
-Identify potential risks and mitigation strategies.

Collaboration and Networking:
-Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with international researchers, environmental organizations, and relevant stakeholders.
-Participate in conferences, workshops, and events to share knowledge and insights.

Documentation and Reporting:
-Prepare detailed reports and documentation on research findings, strategies, and implementation plans.
-Communicate research outcomes effectively to internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

-You have a Master's degree or equivalent degree in Oceanography, Biotechnology, Marine Biology, Marine Sciences, Biology, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.

-You have proven expertise in diatom-based ocean and/or marine CDR research, with a track record of published work.
-Experience with Coastal Oceanography

-You have strong analytical and research skills.

-You are an excellent written and verbal communicator.

-You possess experience in developing and implementing environmental strategies is highly desirable.

-You can work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
