Mission Clean Energy is seeking a Renewable Energy Finance Intern to join our rapidly growing company this summer ideally with our Finance team in Portland, Maine (in a hybrid capacity) or remotely.

About the Internship:

This intern will report to the VP of Finance and work closely with our growing cross functional group that includes representation from finance, engineering, GIS, real estate, permitting, transmission/interconnection, and revenue contract origination.

 

This internship is a rare opportunity to join an outstanding team in an active role that will directly impact the growth and future of the company. Learning Outcomes:

  • Practical experience with renewable energy asset M&A strategy and practices.

  • Practical experience with corporate finance strategy and capital markets activities.

  • Potential exposure to Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) related planning and workstreams.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Finance team on asset M&A transactions.

  • Support the Finance team on corporate finance strategy, capital markets activities and potential projects relating to FP&A.

  • Additional finance and strategy related projects as applicable and desired.

 

Desired Qualifications:

The successful candidate must have strong interest or experience in renewable energy (utility scale solar or battery storage a plus), as well as the following experiences, skills, and attributes.

  • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate education - role will be tailored to experience.

  • Ability to manage and support multiple projects simultaneously, with varying complexities and urgencies presented day-to-day.

  • Strong ability to balance several projects and manage priorities with regular adjustment to new information from the team.

  • Represent the company with the utmost professionalism with internal and external

Communications.

  • Ability and inclination to continually evaluate business needs and practices while successfully facilitating problem solving and improvements.

  • Superior preparation, presentation, time management & interpersonal skills

  • Exceptional organization, attention to detail, communication, negotiation, and

presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and work effectively with cross-functional employee groups; we’re looking for people whose references will say you’re a great teammate.

 

Internship Logistics:

  • Desired start date: We’re flexible based on candidate’s school schedule, ideally sometime in May 2024

  • Duration: Summer 2024

  • Compensation: $20/hr

  • Location: Portland, Maine
