Mission Clean Energy is seeking an Operations Intern this summer to work with our Operations Team team in our San Francisco office.

About the Internship:

In this internship you’ll be responsible for providing administrative and operational support alongside our Operations Team, focusing on the company’s renewable energy development projects. The ideal intern will be able to track complex project activities accurately and efficiently, effectively communicate with staff, assist with ad hoc projects, and be eager to learn in our hands-on, entrepreneurial environment while maximizing their impact on the clean energy transition.

You’ll report to the Operations Manager and work closely with our growing cross functional group that includes representation from finance, engineering, GIS, real estate, permitting, transmission/interconnection, and revenue contract origination.

If you’re a student nearing graduation and interested in getting exposure and hands-on experience in the renewable energy industry while still in school and/or interested in transitioning to full time employment in renewable energy after  graduation, this internship is the perfect opportunity for you!  Additional learning opportunities include company-wide weekly staff training and education seminars on various aspects of the renewable energy industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Track and maintain details and reporting for multiple renewable energy development projects, across multiple databases.

  • Work with third-party vendors for vetting, authorizations, invoicing and necessary approvals. 

  • Provide administrative and operational support for various project-related tasks including but not limited to: arranging site visits and travel; obtaining deeds; recording memos; ordering title reports; acquiring insurance quotes or certificates of insurance; creating, registering and tracking project-specific LLC’s and business licenses; auditing project files and databases.

  • Support contract process through preparing, mailing and tracking outgoing contracts.

  • Attend development meetings to learn and track company activities and direction. 

  • Prepare and organize company materials, spreadsheets, and notes.

  • Pitches in as needed to achieve company goals, and other duties as assigned.

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or in a final year of a Bachelor’s Degree

  • Must be highly personable self-starter

  • Ability to work in-person from our San Francisco office three or more days per week.

  • Extreme attention to detail

  • Demonstrated strong project management skills to maintain progress on multiple ongoing projects for multiple clients

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and juggle competing deadlines effectively

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google calendar and Google documents

  • Knowledge of PowerPoint or Google Earth a plus

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and work effectively with cross-functional employee groups; we’re looking for people whose references will say you’re a great teammate.

Internship Logistics:

  • Desired start date: May 2024 (depending on school schedule)

  • Duration: 40-hour work week, May through August/September, with opportunity to transition into full-time employment depending on the candidate. 

  • Compensation: $25-$35/hour 

  • Location: San Francisco Office
