Role Description
Terawatt is creating first of its kind EV charging solutions and products for the newly developing mobility, heavy trucking and fleet electric vehicle charging market. The Senior Manager, Grants & Incentives is primarily responsible for leading critical grant and incentive acquisition and execution strategies that contribute to the success of Terawatt, include: 1) Develop a grants, incentives, and public-private partnerships strategy that aligns with the Company’s near and long term objectives, 2) Oversee the submission of programmatic and competitive grant applications to federal, state, and utility entities related to electric vehicle infrastructure and distributed energy resources; and 3) Ensure company compliance with any obligations associated with the receipt of grants and incentives. You will be the lead subject matter expert within the company for not only grants and incentives received by, but also those available or soon to be that are ideally suited for Terawatt. You will be part of the Legal & Policy team and report to the Chief Financial Officer while working collaboratively with Commercial, Real Estate, Development, Product, Technology, Operations teams.

Core Responsibilities

    • Develop and execute grants and incentives strategy to secure funding for Terawatt’s large scale EV charging hubs
    • Partner cross-functionally to align grants and incentives sourcing and execution activities with Company objectives and roadmap
    • Develop strong internal relationships with our business leaders to understand their needs and support them effectively
    • Oversee the development and submission of competitive grant and incentive applications
    • Participate in advocacy to relevant public entities regarding charging hubs that are to be the subject of incentive and grant proposals
    • Monitor potential changes to incentive rules and grant procurements to  prepare and present to the company the market impacts of proposed or enacted changes
    • Develop and manage on-going external stakeholder, partner and grant entity relationships to best position Terawatt for success in grant awards
    • Manage contracted technical consultants and internal teams to drive grant and incentive contract negotiations
    • Ensure compliance with any obligations related to grants or incentive programs, such as charging data reporting or administrative compliance filings, including to any applicable low carbon or clean fuels programs
    • Develop and maintain relationships with local and state officials, agencies, and stakeholders creating and administering incentive and grants programs

Preferred Qualifications

    • 7 - 10 years professional experience
    • Experience in business development, public-private partnerships, and grant acquisitions
    • Energy, transportation or environmental grant management experience and successes 
    • Exposure to low carbon / clean fuels program rules, requirements and compliance 
    • Professional passion to combat climate change 
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
$160,000 - $180,000 a year
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. This salary range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, interview performance, and geographic location.
