Role and responsibilities

The Assistant Project Manager, EPC Services will be responsible for supporting the project execution and operations team and work directly with the Project Director on all activities during the preconstruction and construction phases through project closeout associated with Primergy’s portfolio of current and future construction projects.   The successful candidate will have 3 - 5 years of experience in the renewable energy industry, specifically in North America, the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas, and the ability and enthusiasm to successfully execute projects. 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

·       Assist the Project Director with procurement of EPC contracts including bidding, scoping and execution on large scale utility and distributed generation utility solar plants

·       Manage various forms of project documentation including submittals, RFIs, project meeting minutes, construction documents, contractual obligations, delivery and permits.  Responsibilities include managing the data room files and ensure digital files are stored and updated regularly based upon the Primergy data room protocols and policies.

·       Supervise consultants and direct overall project activities as assigned by the EPC Services manager and project execution team including planning and coordinating, circumventing/resolving problem areas, ensuring all company/project policies, procedures and standards are maintained, etc.

·       Maintain all change orders, submittal and document (drawing) control logs. Prepare required logs and other project documentation for construction meetings.

·       Responsible for tracking and reporting on contract milestone submittals to ensure accuracy and timeliness, and notify senior management of any deficiencies.

·       Assist the Project Director in creating request for proposals, analyzing bids and issuing the Subcontractors’ contracts.

·       Under supervision of the Project Director, work directly with the third-party EPC management team on executing project activities and ensuring that management and reporting is conducted based upon contracted scopes and the project needs. 

·       Represent company/project in meetings with stakeholders, government agencies, power offtakers, contractors, subcontractors, etc.

·       Assume project supervision responsibilities in Project Director's absence.

·       Work with Project team on the preparation of project reports and documentation as needed.

·       Travel to project sites across the United States and assist the Project Director in stakeholder engagement during preconstruction and construction activities.

·       Participate in regularly scheduled project team calls, prepare agendas and meeting minutes, and identify key action items. Work collaboratively with and be responsive to requests from internal colleagues.

·       5% - Other duties as assigned

·       Approximately 50% travel required

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

·       Requires a Bachelor degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

·       Ability to communicate and sync cross-functionally regularly to minimize project risks with various team members, including Project Development, M&A, Legal, Origination, Finance, and Operations.

·       Minimum 3 – 5 years of relevant renewable energy development and/or construction experience

·       Minimum of 1 year construction site experience on large projects and working directly with large construction teams is required.

·       Familiarity with EPC procurement and/or EPC management.

·       Solar development and/or energy storage development experience is required. 

·       While this role is remote, employee must have access to a major metropolitan airport to ensure easy access for travel.

·       Previous experience working in a commercial environment with excellent counterparty focused, customer management, negotiation, and influencing skills, is preferred.

  • Successfully operating in a geographically dispersed organization is a plus.
