Sustainability Technology Manager (m/f/d)

As a Sustainability Technology Manager you identify industry sustainability needs and trends, near- and long-term. You adjust and strengthen the Binders Sustainability Roadmap in alignment with Binders strategy and market roadmaps.

 

Responsibilities

  • Identifying customer and industry sustainability needs
  • Outline near- as well as long-term priority areas
  • In alignment with Trinseo Corp and Binders strategy and Market Roadmaps develop further the Binders Sustainability Roadmap in collaboration with teams and Biz leadership
  • Identifying external parties Binders should engage with cross-value chain to enable an enhanced sustainability offering to the industries served. Including but going beyond technology collaborations
  • Scouting and mapping of sustainability related technology options & assessing fit with Trinseo Binders capabilities: Work closely with market facing/biz dev team to ensure alignment to market/customer needs as well as Trinseo sustainability goals
  • Lead of complex product development projects in the field of sustainability 
  • Act as sustainability spokesperson towards Binders BU customers representing Trinseo Binders and Trinseo as a whole. Lead / facility customer workshop in aligned with the account teams.
  • Be the go to person for sustainability requests from the market facing teams, provide data and information back for addressing customer information needs (e.g. PCF data, sustainability documentation) 
  • Technical advisor: for other project teams in the field of sustainability, working with patent attorneys to secure IP, setting up relevant collaborations with universities and joint development agreements with customers

Qualifications

  • Master in Chemistry / Bio Chemistry / Sustainability and bio-material industry related field
  • Minimum 5 years’ industrial experience in similar sustainability roles, experienced in life cycle/PCF assessments and sustainability targets and methodologies    
  • Strong analytical skills to translate customer requirements into clear project targets and plans, ranging from non-technical ventures to specific product development goals and experimental plan to achieve these
  • Fluent English and German skills, both written and verbal
  • The successful candidate needs to show a high level of ownership, drive, and interpersonal capabilities, coupled with a sound business acumen
