Job Description

AECOM Burnaby is seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Professional to support our Canadian Remediation team. We are looking for a technically proficient, enthusiastic individual. Our ideal candidate has the people skills to grow and mentor staff and the technical experience to support clients in a “trusted-advisor” capacity. This is a Full-time role.

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Exhibiting personal safety leadership in the oversight and execution of all work.
  • Provision of technical expertise in support of ongoing AECOM assessment and remediation projects, including the review of work scopes and client deliverables
  • Demonstrating creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving both routine and unusual project delivery and technical problems.
  • The ability to mentor a team of environmental professionals to achieve their potential.
  • Development and management of client-facing relationships.
  • Development of strategic proposals and budgets in support of work opportunities.
  • Regularly communicate with regulators, clients, and other AECOM technical staff/project managers.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Civil, Chemical, Environmental, etc.) or sciences: (Environmental etc.)
  • 8+ years consulting experience leading assessment and remediation projects
  • Ability to provide professional sign-off on remediation reports according to the BC Environmental Management Act and Contaminated Sites Regulation.
  • Valid Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer, Geologist or Agrologist registered in BC
  • Contaminated Sites Approved Professional (CSAP) or eligible for registration as a CSAP
  • Ideally 15-20 years of consulting and/or industry experience
  • Experience with Regulatory Applications and Documentation in BC
  • Experience with Site inspection, Regulatory and Environmental Compliance, Geological and Hydrogeological Evaluation, Conceptual Site Model development and validation and Risk Assessment
  • Experience in Contract Management/Administration
  • Proven track record with regulatory advocacy and obtaining site closure
  • Ability to apply environmental quality guidelines to data collected from various media and land uses
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Strong client management skills
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in building working relationships and participating in multidiscipline teams
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Project, Excel and Word
  • Can-do, positive attitude and an ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment
