education background (minimum requirements)
High Diploma in Safety and/or environment from a recognized institute or Higher
Possession of internationally recognized safety qualification
Must be computer literate

In possession of OPITO/OLF approved Offshore Survival certification including HUET (Helicopter Underwater Escape Training)
In possession of OPITO/OLF approved Offshore Fire Team Leader certification
In possession of OPITO/OLF approved Helicopter Landing Officer Certificate (HLO)
In possession of advanced Gas Tester Certification
Good working knowledge of Permit To Work systems, Risk Assessment, etc
Working knowledge of fixed fire fighting and fire detection systems, including firewater pumps, gaseous fire suppression systems, water & foam deluge systems, firewater networks including fire monitors and hydrants
Experience in offshore emergencies, including rescue techniques & fire team leadership
Experience with helicopter operations on offshore installations including fire & rescue procedures
Experience in Offshore emergency procedures including means of escape from offshore installations, use TEMPSC, Liferafts, etc
Knowledge of environmental matters including the effects of sea pollution and cleanup techniques
Proven ability to conduct safety and toolbox meetings for field personnel as well as contractors
Proven administrative ability
Excellent command of English language in speaking, reading, writing and understanding is a must
professional background
Minimum 8 years working experience in safety in the oil industry, with a minimum of 5 years spent working offshore
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Daily reporting to the safety and environment supervisor on all the aspects related to safety & environment issues
To follow on the Permit To Work system (PTW) daily activities, carry our gas tests when required, ensure safe working place for hot activities and confined space entry
To investigate and report incidents, accidents and near misses to the safety & environment supervisor
To carry out HSE weekly auditing and report the findings to the safety & environment supervisor
Following up weekly safety meeting plan, review and prepare new topics, attend the meetings and provide advice on raised issues, ensure all topics are clarified and document the meeting findings
Administrating support to the safety & environment supervisor
Administering the weekly, monthly and annual reports on all aspects of the Field Safety & Environment Department
To cover the position of the safety & environment supervisor when required
Carry out training to safety and other sections’ staff for implementing new safety & lifesaving equipment
Deputy Combat Team Leader in case of Emergency
Deputy Helicopter Landing Officer (HLO) & Helideck Fire Team Leader
