Position Summary

DLR Group is looking for a passionate and experienced certification specialist to join our High Performance Design team to provide Project Administration of green building certification systems. This includes but is not limited to LEED, WELL, LBC, Green Globes, Reset, CHPS, and Envision.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be the project team expert regarding sustainable building certification systems, their specific requirements, and documentation.
  • Manage Building Performance Analysts workload management, mentorship, and career management.
  • Be responsible for coordinating and administering certification systems.
  • Effectively translate technically rigorous sustainable building certification requirements to clients, design teams, contractors, and stakeholder groups.
  • Coordinate the design team’s efforts to achieve client sustainability goals.
  • Be proficient in a variety of national certification systems such as LEED, WELL, LBC, and others.
  • Be able to learn and become proficient in regional certification systems such as Minnesota B3, Austin Energy Green Building, Calgreen/Title 24, and others.
  • Facilitate VALUES sustainability brainstorming/stakeholder engagement charettes.
  • Lead project meetings to review and explain sustainable certification requirements.
  • Lead design charettes and brainstorming session with all stakeholders.
  • Maintain profitability on certification projects.
  • Assist in writing fee proposals. Ensure sustainability features are included in construction documents.
  • Provide accurate, on-time delivery of certification documentation.
  • Provide quality assurance and quality control for certification submissions.
  • Be able to complete certification documentation for the project team.
  • Work across sectors and regions on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Help to guide, inform, and achieve clients’ sustainability goals.
  • Be a constant and active advocate for sustainable design.
  • Mentor other professionals to help grow our certifications team.
  • Evaluate multiple rating systems and certifications to fit the client’s sustainability goals.
  • Prepare crosswalks, pros/cons, and certification costs for multiple rating systems to inform client decisions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction, sustainability, or related field.
  • 1-3 years experience as a LEED Project Administrator.
  • Project experience in 3-5 LEED projects.
  • LEED Accredited Professional, BD+C.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in architecture, engineering, construction, sustainability, or related field.
  • 5+ years experience as a LEED Project Administrator.
  • LEED PA on at least 2 LEED projects that achieved LEED certification.
  • LEED Project Administration experience in LEED v4 and v4.1, and in additional LEED programs (ID+C, Schools, C+S, O+M).
  • Living Future Accreditation, WELL AP, or other accreditation.
  • Working knowledge or experience in WELL, LBC, Green Globes, CHPS, Envision.
