 POSITION OVERVIEW:

The primary purpose of this role is to execute and operationalize MGIL’s Sustainability and CSR Strategy.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support Sustainable sourcing to deliver corporate commitments on

  • Iconics material:  Oregano, Cinnamon
  • Super 7 :Thyme and Sage

Collaborate with the buyers and the suppliers to ensure the yearly targets are delivered, (tools:  Farmer support Projects and certification, Manage and initiate multistakeholder projects…)

Develop own and operationalize long term strategy to meet objectives laid out properly

  • Acquire firsthand knowledge and develop credibility with suppliers and internal stakeholders through origin visits

Own strategic development and become subject matter expert of the following cross functional topics:

  • Community Support: continuous improvement of McCormick’s approach to community support by leveraging existing tools (suppliers grants, Sustainable certification…) ensure impact monitoring and project reporting.
  • Women empowerment: deploy the full Women empowerment framework to demonstrate McCormick’s leadership on this sustainability Pilar that includes:
    • Deployment of the monitoring and evaluation tool
    • Roll out women empowerment activities
    • Report on progress and milestones
  • Communication and corporate reporting contact point
    • Redaction of quarterly newsletter to update MGIL team and McCormick targeted audience on quarterly progress
    • Support Communication team for corporate sustainability report
    • Support investor relation team and PLP reporting to fulfill various voluntary benchmarks
  • Sedex and Smeta : 
    • Coordinate Sedex and Smeta roll out
    • Reporting findings to Buyers
    • Track progress

Support overall PLP Agenda:

  • Own the Budget tracking
  • Own the PLP volume tracking
  • Participate in MGIL’s Value Proposition monthly meetings
  • Participate in Various PLP update meetings

 

REQURIED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in International business / development, Social Science, Environmental Science
  • 5-10 years’ experience managing projects, data analysis. Specific experience in CSR and / or international development would be an advantage. Has working knowledge of Sustainability/CSR process. Is expected to independently research other options, develop project plan/proposals and initiate discussions with supervisor to gain alignment / approvals. Has proven effective verbal and written communication skills. Has demonstrated effective execution skills with some direction or oversight provided.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English will be required to enable effective communication up down and across the organization.   • Organization - Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills. Computer- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office including Microsoft Project. Project administration and management. Communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters Degree in International business / development, Social Science, Environmental Science
  • Several years for managing in emerging countries project is a plus
  • Ability to work in French, Spanish
