HRP Associates, Inc. is seeking an Entry Level Geologist/Environmental Scientist with 0 to 3 years’ experience to join our team in Clifton Park, NY.  This candidate will help manage and grow existing site investigation, brownfield, remediation, environmental site rehabilitation, and leaking AST/UST tank projects throughout New York State.  A variety of challenging assignments will be offered to the successful candidate, including the design and execution of hydrogeological investigations, remedial actions, construction oversight, and environmental assessments.  This is an opportunity for a self-motivated professional interested in a career in a fast-paced and client responsive environment.

Responsibilities may include (depending on experience level):

  • Environmental data management
  • Site assessments
  • EQUIS or equivalent electronic data deliverable (EDD) format and interaction
  • Site characterizations of soil, ground water, surface water, and sediments
  • Remediation investigation and studies (RI/FS)
  • Remediation Design, implementation, and oversight
  • Closure and post closure monitoring
  • Permitting/application reviews
  • Data analysis and interpretation
  • Report and proposal preparation
  • Client interaction
  • Other duties as assigned

Work experience and knowledge to include (depending on experience level):

  • Multi-media field sampling and logging techniques
  • Oversight and management of subcontractors
  • Construction oversight
  • Monitoring well design and installation
  • Geospatial data collection and analysis
  • Knowledge of regulatory NY-DEC framework
  • Analytical Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC)
  • Site response activities/Interim Remedial Measure (IRM)
  • Site-Specific Health & Safety Plans (HASP)
  • Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPP)
  • Field Activities Plan (FAP)
  • Environmental site assessments (Phase I/II/III)
  • Due Diligence
  • Report preparation and an aptitude for technical writing
  • Groundwater/soil remediation technologies

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Consulting experience
  • Has PE and/or PG or interested in attaining professional licensure(s)
  • Working knowledge of NYSDEC assessment, investigation, remedial programs, state and federal funding mechanisms
  • We are looking for creative, results driven individuals with strong backgrounds in environmental science, hydrogeology, geochemistry, geology or related fields
  • Applicants should be able to demonstrate the ability to work independently and in a team setting that is fully supportive of our clients, employees, and team members
  • Travel requirements will vary depending on the position and will primarily occur in New York State, but could extend out-of-state as necessary
  • Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree and demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
