This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to build a career with a top ten global law firm. This is an established role within a high-performance focused Clients & Markets team. The Senior Sustainability Administrator will work with the wider firm and other key stakeholders to support the firm’s ESG and growth agenda.

The Role

  • Engage with facilities on implementing sustainable materials & practices for each building such as LED lighting, reduction in power usage for HVAC & Printers etc.
  • Promote and encourage a sustainable drive by actively recruiting colleagues to join the green team and organise carbon neutral certification.
  • Collate and analyse environmental data – energy, waste, travel, supplier spend etc (Scopes 1, 2 and 3 emissions)
  • Use supplier data platforms to upload ES data and calculate carbon footprint
  • Work with external consultants to verify environmental data and validate processes (arrange for external parties to give on site info talks)
  • Work to support the firm in setting its carbon reduction targets as approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)
  • Work to support the firm in achieving ISO 14001 status (international standard for designing and implementing an environmental management system) or similar
  • Advising on how the UN SDG’s (Sustainable Development Goals) can be integrated into the Firm’s Sustainability policy
  • To undertake a green audit of the firm
  • Environmental compliance
  • Work with colleagues in International offices and liaise directly with Belfast office and LLP counterparts 
  • Support events such as World Environment Day and work on a calendar of events throughout the year to highlight key activity
  • Represent the Firm on ESG/Sustainable industry bodies as and when required (e.g. the Green Team Network)
  • Lead on, and implement, sustainable initiatives throughout the Firm (e.g. paper usage, waste bins, water usage, electricity suppliers, biodiversity)
  • Present to the Partners and Firm generally as and when required on sustainability initiatives and updates (Induction for new staff)
  • Co-ordinate and collate a ‘living document’ that can be used as a reference guide by the Tenders team with respect to ESG and Sustainable initiatives undertaken by the Firm
  • Work with the Clients and Markets team with respect to any Client or Community ESG/Sustainable initiatives
  • Assisting with general queries

About the Person

  • Knowledge of sustainability/environmental legislation is essential.
  • Competence in Microsoft packages, particularly Excel, is essential.
  • Given the nature of the role, fluency in a second language would be an advantage but not a necessity.
